
Ponies Close Stand with Squirrels
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies close their homestand tonight with a 6:35 game (air at 6:20 on News Radio 1290 WNBF) against the Richmond Flying Squirrels. The Ponies and Flying Squirrels split a doubleheader last night with Richmond winning game one 8-2 and Binghamton earning the nightcap win 3-0.
Chris Flexen made his Double-A debut a memorable one for Binghamton as he threw a complete game shutout. That puts Binghamton's record at 32-21 and leaves them two games behind Trenton in the Eastern Division of the Eastern League. Richmond is 23-34.
The Rumble Ponies start Corey Oswalt on the mound. He is 4-3. Richmond counters with Matt Gage who has a record of 2-4. With each team notching a win in this series tonight is the tenth rubber game of the season for the Rumble Ponies. So far so good in rubber games for Binghamton. The Rumble Ponies are 7-2 in those contests.
Following tonight's game Binghamton heads to Harrisburg to open a three-game series in Harrisburg16th to host Reading at 7:05 PM.
