The Binghamton Rumble Ponies and Bowie Baysox are not only having to battle each other but Mother Nature as well.  The two teams got their game underway last night but only got to the middle of the second inning when steady rain caused a stoppage in play.  After a delay of over an hour the umpires announced the suspension of play for the night.

The teams are scheduled to resume play in the suspended contest this afternoon at 5:05 P.M.  The game will be for nine innings.  Then the teams will meet in a seven-inning contest.  Coverage begins at 4:50 P.M. on News Radio 1290 WNBF.

Weather continues to be an issue throughout the eastern part of the country and Bowie and the Maryland area are feeling the effects as well with the chance of rain increasing by early evening.  The teams face a scheduling issue since the Rumble Ponies and Baysox don't meet again this season after their day game tomorrow.
