Number of Coronavirus Cases in New York State Rises Above 100
A day after he declared a state of emergency, Governor Cuomo announced the number of coronavirus cases in the state has increased to 105.
Cuomo Sunday said efforts continue "to contain the spread of the virus" that causes COVID-19.
The governor revealed Ulster and Suffolk counties now each have one confirmed case of coronavirus. Westchester County has 82 cases and New York City has 12. Multiple cases also have been reported in Saratoga, Rockland and Nassau counties.
According to the Broome County Health Department, no coronavirus cases have been confirmed in the county.
Cuomo said "single best thing we can do is testing." He said the state needs more help from the federal government and the Centers for Disease Control.
The governor said "we want to find the positives" so those who are infected can be isolated to control the spread of the virus.
