No Tail Leads to Arrest
In news from the Cortland County Sheriff's Office an arrest has been made after the Uniform Patrol Division stopped a vehicle on Route 41 in the Town of Homer for an inadequate tail light. In a release provided the Cortland County Sheriff's Office the operator, 21 year-old Kyle J Prugger of DeRuyter, New York, was found to be in possession of a loaded .22 caliber semi-automatic pistol with a filed off serial number.
Prugger was taken into custody and taken to the Cortland Sheriff's Office where he was charged with:
One count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, Class "D" Felony (for the filed off serial number on the pistol).
One Count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, Class "C" Felony.
Inadequate Tail Light.
Prugger was held at the Cortland County Sheriff's Office pending arraignment. Police report further charges are possible.
