
New York State Troopers Assist In Removing Animals From Farm
On May 16, 2024, New York State Police arrested four people in connection with a case of over one hundred neglected animals at a farm on Clark Lane and Pig Farm Lane in New Berlin.
The four persons were charged with felonies and misdemeanors under the Agriculture and Markets Law. Over two dozen animals were located deceased, and an additional 107 neglected animals were removed, including horses, swine, cattle, sheep, goats, a llama, dogs, and cats, according to the report from the New York State Police Troop C headquarters in Sidney, New York.

New York State Police, along with the Susquehanna SPCA, removed several animals from the properties located on Clark Lane and Pig Farm Lane in the town of New Berlin on March 28, 2025.
According to the New York State Police report, the agencies were on scene after information that the owners of the properties were violating a court order by possessing animals.
Three cows, one sheep, three dogs, and fifteen cats were removed and taken to the Susquehanna SPCA. The Chenango County Sheriff's Department, along with Curtis Walker Jr. and a crew of cowboys, helped round up the stray cows and sheep.
As a result of court proceedings in 2024, the owner of the property was not to own or possess any animals.
