The City of Binghamton is getting more money from New York State to help it fix up roads.

Officials say the $750,000 in funding secured through the efforts of State Senator Fred Akshar is coming from the State and Municipal Facilities Program of the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York.

City officials say the money will go toward adding another mile of neighborhood street paving, curb and sidewalk upgrades to bring areas into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and water/sewer underground utility upgrades.

Senator Akshar says $2 million has also been secured in infrastructure funding for Broome County.
