Friday night will be a memorable night for football players, staff and fans at Susquehanna Valley High School.  The Sabers will meet Newark Valley under the lights on the school's new turf field.  The evening gets started with an official ribbon cutting at 6:00 P.M.  Kickoff for the game is an hour later at 7:00 P.M. The new artificial turf field and the stadium lighting were approved in a vote in 2016.

There will be plenty of festivities before and during the game.  There will be a parade around the track, youth football, raffles and prizes to be given away.  Oh...and the football game....how about this Section 4 Class C match-up ?  The visiting Cardinals are 5-0 and ranked fourth in New York State.  SV is also 5-0 and ranked second in the state.  They are both in Division IV in Section 4.  Newark Valley is 3-0 and the Sabers are 1-0 in divisional play.

Susquehanna Valley is offering free admission and inviting the community to attend.  SV joins most of the other Section 4 schools who have installed lights and added artificial turf.  One holdout ...Newark Valley.
