Man Accused Of Stealing From Newark Valley Store

A Tioga County man has been arrested following an investigation into suspicious activity at a Family Dollar Store in Newark Valley.

Authorities say 32-year-old Timothy Ridgway of Newark Valley was charged with petit larceny and criminal mischief.

According to the Tioga County Sheriff's Office, Ridgway is accused of opening several items in the North Main Street store. He's also accused of stealing property from the business.

Ridgway, who was being held at Tioga County Jail on an unrelated charge, was arraigned in Newark Valley town court. Bail was set at $2,000.

Ridgway is to appear again in the town court on October 14.
