Authorities say 22-year-old Joshua Fuller of Windsor was taken into custody late Tuesday night after Binghamton police discovered some of the loot following a traffic stop.

According to state police, Fuller was charged with third-degree grand larceny, a felony.

City police determined the money and bonds didn't belong to the occupants of the car that had been pulled over for a minor traffic violation.

State police checked the Rath Avenue residence of the owner of the money and savings bonds.

Investigators suspect the theft occurred when Fuller was working for the owner. About $27,000 of the stolen cash and bonds have been recovered.

Fuller was arraigned in Town of Union court. He was sent to Broome County Jail without bail.
