Louisville Artists Add Color to Endicott Bank Building with Mural
A team of mural-makers made a 12-hour trip from Kentucky to help beautify the exterior of a bank in Endicott's business district.
The artists from Often seen Rarely Spoken traveled to Broome County from Louisville for the mural project.
The new work is the latest in a series of murals popping up across the Binghamton area as part of a public arts initiative sponsored by the Broome County Arts Council.
The mural was painted on the east side of the Washington Avenue branch of M&T Bank. It's visible as people approach the business district from McKinley Avenue and North Street.
Ian Muldoon of Often Seen Rarely Spoken said five members of the team worked for about three days to paint "The Village of Endicott" mural.
The design features various shades of blue and green with the village's name spelled out over a rendering of the nearby Susquehanna River.
Muldoon said the company has completed more than 250 murals over the last several years. He said the team now is busy with a project in the cafeteria of a social media company in Nashville.
Another mural appeared in Endicott's business district last August. That work at a building housing the Ever-After Boutique was done by Scott Liam Walker of Virginia.
