Sometimes even locking your vehicle doesn’t stop determined thieves.

Cortland County Sheriff’s officials say they were called to Labrador Mountain Ski Resort in the Town of Truxton on February 20 with a report of the theft of items from vehicles.

While most vehicle larcenies are from unlocked cars, this time Deputies say the vehicles in the parking lot were locked.

All incidents involved the vehicles' windows being smashed out during broad daylight and items taken.

Anyone with information or who may have seen anything suspicious on the day of the thefts is asked to contact the Cortland County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Division at (607) 758-6151.

As always, officials urge citizens to make sure their vehicles are locked but, even so, they should not leave items of value in cars, especially in plain sight.
