Outfielder Juan Lagares made his first rehab assignment appearance for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies last (Tuesday) night in a 3-1 Binghamton victory over first-place Trenton.  Lagares started in center field and played five innings.  He went 2-3 at the plate with a pair of singles.

In a media conference this afternoon (Wednesday) Lagares said he knows of no time frame for his scheduled return to New York.  He said he has no pain or any other problem with the fractured thumb that has sidelined him since June 15th.

This is the third time Lagares has done rehab work in Binghamton.  He played 138 games in two seasons here on his way up to the Big Leagues.  He has played in over 500 Major League games...all with the New York Mets.
