Johnson City Police Arrest Endicott Man on Rape Charges
An Endicott man faces felony charges for allegedly having sexual contact with a 15-year-old girl in Johnson City.
Authorities say 25-year-old Carlos Padron was taken into custody around 3:45 a.m. Monday.
Padron was apprehended by a Johnson City police officer on the George F. Highway in Endwell.
Village police chief Brent Dodge said Padron had fled the scene from the South Side of Johnson City. He said police had been called around 3 a.m.
The suspect was spotted by an officer riding a bicycle westbound in the eastbound lanes of Route 17C heading toward Endicott.
Padron has been accused in connection with alleged incidents in the village of Johnson City "over a period of time." He has been charged with two counts of third-degree rape and two counts of second-degree criminal sexual act. He also was charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
