Johnson City Police say a Village man is accused of filing several false reports of serious crimes.

Police say they received several reports of violent crimes but quickly determined all of those claims were fake.

Investigators say they were able to trace the calls to 31 year old Marvin Thompson and said the calls were made from a home on Main Street.

He’s also accused of making similar false reports to the Port Jervis, New York Police and had recently been released from jail for those incidents.

After taking him into custody, Village Police say they also found him in possession of a stolen ring.

Thompson is charged November 11 with felony reckless endangerment, four misdemeanor counts of falsely reporting an incident and petit larceny.

He was sent to the Broome County Jail.
