Now that spring is here, we (hopefully) can begin to get outside more and enjoy better weather, provided winter has packed it in for the, well, winter.

Many Southern Tier organizations are putting the final touches on their spring and summer activities to enjoy. And one of those organizations includes the Ross Park Zoo on Morgan Road in Binghamton.

The Ross Park Zoo recently welcomed three newborn Sand Cats, one male, and two females. Mom, KAYA, and her young ones can be seen at the Ross Park Zoo which is now open all year long.

The Ross Park Zoo is the fifth oldest zoo in America, and one of their first fun spring events is happening on Friday and Saturday, April 7th and 8th, Easter weekend. It's their annual Eggstravaganza and Breakfast with the Easter Bunny event.

The Eggstravaganza event will occur both days from 10 am to 4 pm and is open to the public. Catered breakfast with the Easter Bunny is from 9 am to 10:30 am each day. To purchase tickets, visit the Ross Park Zoo website.

The Ross Park Zoo website describes the Eggstravaganza as "a family-fun, self-paced scavenger hunt for eggs within the zoo habitats. "Children can redeem their “found eggs” for prizes while learning about the animals and how the zoo is working to forward its mission of education, conservation, and community engagement."

By the way, the Ross Park Zoo is looking for volunteers for the Eggstravaganza event for both Friday, April 7th, and Saturday, April 8th. According to the Ross Park Zoo:

Volunteers are also needed to help out with the games and other stations during Eggstravaganza. It’s a perfect chance to get out, have some fun with area families, and help Binghamton’s beloved Ross Park Zoo. Volunteers can sign up for morning and/or afternoon shifts each day. - Ross Park Zoo
