Adam Weitsman Lists Davis College Campus in Johnson City for $6M
Broome County businessman Adam Weitsman is seeking a buyer for the 13-acre Davis College campus in the village of Johnson City.
Weitsman acquired the Riverside Drive property along with two nearby residential buildings for $3.7 million in December 2019. He later sold the residential sites.
John Farrell of EXIT Realty Homeward Bound on Tuesday said the Davis College property had been listed three days ago. The listing price is $6 million.
Farrell said there already has been interest in the site, which is located just east of the Route 201 traffic circle. He said there had been three showings of the property since it was listed.
Weitsman acquired the site with the intention of developing a basketball academy there. He also had said he planned to establish an esports academy on the campus.
Weitsman's Davis College plans were put on hold during the Covid-19 pandemic.
A portion of the site was used by the state to administer Covid tests and vaccinations for several months.
United Health Services operated a childcare drop-off center for employees in the former campus library for a time.
In recent months, Weitsman had said he was evaluating possible other uses for the Davis College campus. He could not be reached on Tuesday to discuss his decision to sell the property.
