You know it's the fall season when the leaves begin to change colors. I really noticed that while heading to camp this past weekend in Bradford County, Pennsylvania.

According to the New York State Fall Foliage report, this past weekend saw some significant changes in the Adirondack and Catskill regions. This was the first report of the fall season, with updates occurring every Wednesday for the next few weeks, until the season has passed.

For week one of the report, Broome County was listed as less than a 5% change along the Greenway Walking Trail in Binghamton, and in Chenango County, less than 10% change in Bainbridge, Norwich, and Preston, with slightly muted touches of orange and brown leaves.

Volunteer Foliage Spotters

According to the NYS fall foliage report, the I LOVE NY team consists of volunteer foliage spotters throughout the 11 regions. They keep track and report the color change in their region each week. There are over 90 volunteers throughout the Empire State tracking and reporting the changes.
The weekly fall foliage reports feature a detailed map of color change throughout New York State, including vantage points for viewing foliage and suggested autumn getaways.
