The Buffalo Bills had a brutal day at the office yesterday, which also happened to be their first game in London since 2015.

The Bills lost 25-20 and the offense took three quarters to get going. The defense played well, outside of the Jacksonville Jaguars last two drives, even with the injuries that the Bills had to deal with on defense.

Linebacker Matt Milano and defensive tackle DaQuan Jones left early in the first quarter, which was on the same play. Milano suffered a leg/knee injury and Jones a pectoral injury.

A report from Ian Rapoport on Sunday said that Milano suffered a leg fracture and perhaps a torn ligament(s), which would need to be confirmed on an MRI.

On Monday, head coach Sean McDermott confirmed that both Milano and Jones will need surgery but he would not commit to either being season-ending.

McDermott says that they don't have that information at the moment but did say both will miss time with their required surgeries.

It's hard to see Milano coming back this season but this at least gives the team and fans a sliver of hope that could potentially happen. Jones' injury is another crucial blow because he's been incredibly impactful on the defensive line. Milano has been the Bills' best player on defense, while Jones has been their most underrated player on defense.

The injuries means that rookie linebacker Dorian Williams will play more, along with veteran Tyrel Dodson. There's no replacing Milano and what he does but the Bills will have to carry on without him.

As for the defensive line, this means Poona Ford and Tim Settle will play a lot more. The Bills also traded away Boogie Basham and lost Eli Ankou to the Atlanta Falcons, so they are now much thinner on the defensive line than they were a month or two ago.

McDermott also says that tight end Dalton Kincaid is in concussion protocol and tight end Dawson Knox has a wrist injury. Both players' status is unknown for Sunday night's game against the Giants.

We will see what McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane opt to do moving forward. The NFL trade deadline is on November 1st.
