The New York Jets have a ton of hype surrounding them this season and with good reason. The team added one of the best quarterbacks of all time with the trade for Aaron Rodgers and has a talented group of wide receivers for him to throw to with second-year receiver Garrett Wilson and his form teammate in Green Bay, Allen Lazard.

So who will have the better season in 2023 as the team tries to make it to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1969?

According to most sports books, both players will have solid years, but they think Wilson could have a breakout campaign.

Here are the odds by NJ’s key sports betting apps on the two wide receivers:

  • Garrett Wilson Receptions 2023
    Over/Under 87½
  • Garrett Wilson Receiving Yards 2023
    Over/Under 1125½
  • Garrett Wilson Receiving TD's 2023
    Over/Under 7½
  • Allen Lazard Receptions 2023 Regular Season
    Over/Under 52½
  • Allen Lazard Receiving Yards 2023 Regular Season
    Over/Under 650½
  • Allen Lazard Receiving TD's 2023 Regular Season
    Over/Under 4½

Let's Break This Down.

Wilson had a huge 2022 season for the Jets as a rookie with 83 catches for 1,103 yards and four scores. The sports book thinks Garrett will haul in more passes this season, with slightly more yards and more touchdowns. I have to agree
I like Wilson to have a big season with Rodgers throwing him the football after dealing with multiple quarterbacks in 2022 and over 87.5 catches, over 1125.5 yards, and over 7.5 touchdown numbers this season.

How About Lazard?

Well in 2002, Lazard caught 60 passes for 788 yards and six touchdowns with Rodgers in Green Bay. The sportsbook sees his numbers going down this season in New York, and I just don't see it. I like Lazard to eclipse all three of these categories, so I am taking the over.

So what five wide receivers will have the most receiving touchdowns this season according to the sportsbooks?

Top Five in Receiving TDs:

  • Ja'Marr Chase Receiving TD's 2023 Regular Season
    Over/Under 10½
  • Cooper Kupp Receiving TD's 2023 Regular Season
    Over/Under 8½
  • Davante Adams Receiving TD's 2023 Regular Season
    Over/Under 8½
  • Justin Jefferson Receiving TD's 2023 Regular Season
    Over/Under 8½
  • Stefon Diggs Receiving TD's 2023 Regular Season
    Over/Under 8½

Predicting touchdowns is always tough, but I think Chase might be one to keep an eye on because of this quarterback situation in Cincinnati. Will Joe Burrow miss time to open the season? And if he does, what does that mean for Chase's production? Kupp, who missed time last season with an injury is already having hamstring issues entering this year. Adams has a new quarterback and might be without the Raiders' top running back, Josh Jacobs. With these three guys, I feel better taking the under.

As for Jefferson and Diggs, I think these guys could again find the end zone plenty of times in 2023, Jefferson had eight scores last season, but I think with Dalvin Cook gone, Jefferson will be counted on more than ever, Diggs had 11 touchdowns last season and the Bills throw the ball a ton, so I'll go over 8.5 for him as well.
