A United States military flight demonstration squadron is scheduled to perform again in Broome County.

The Navy Blue Angels are to highlight the Greater Binghamton Air Show next summer.

The air show at the Greater Binghamton Airport in the town of Maine is among the appearances included on the Blue Angels 2024 schedule. The flight team is to perform on July 6 and 7.

Broome County Executive Jason Garnar declined to discuss details of the planned event when asked about it during a live WNBF Radio interview Thursday morning.

Garnar said "we would like to do an air show every two years." He said he believes the county's next air show "is going to be absolutely amazing."

The county executive said "we're looking forward to our next air show and there'll be a lot more details to come" when the planning for the event has been completed.

Garnar said "there is still a lot more work to do on wrapping up the other parts of the show and the acts that will be there."

Garnar said the Blue Angels are one of the premier aerial demonstration teams in the nation. He said "they're amazing and I'm sure we're going to get a ton of people - not just in Broome County but from a lot of places outside Broome County" who will visit the air show "to check them out but also to check out the other acts that are there as well."

The Blue Angels have performed at a few Broome County air shows including at events in 1975, 1977 and 2009.
