Cortland County Sheriff’s officials say a five month long investigation ends with felony charges against a Homer woman.

Officials say 53 year old Tracey Rialdi is charged with felony scheme to defraud and felony grand larceny.  A victim reported in early July that they paid their insurance premiums but were getting cancellation notices for non-payment.

Investigators say after talking to the insurance company, they believed Rialdi, who was employed by the firm, had been taking cash payments from several clients totaling about $12,229.

There have been seven known customers identified as victims.

Rialdi was arrested in the Town of Clay in Onondaga County.

She was released after her arraignment and ordered to re-appear in Cortland County Court November 21.

The investigation continues and anyone with information is asked to call the Criminal Investigation Division at (607) 758-5536.
