The long-awaited home opener for the Binghamton Rumble Ponies is on tap for 6:35 tonight (Thursday).  After four road games in New Hampshire and three consecutive nights of postponed games in Portland, Maine the Rumble Ponies are "Ready to Rumble" at NYSEG Stadium as they host the Erie Seawolves.

Anthony Kay will start on the mound for new manager Kevin Boles.  It will be his second start in a Binghamton uniform.  He started the season opener in New Hampshire and went 4.2 innings, gave up one unearned run and struck out four Fisher Cats.

Erie, the Eastern League affiliate of the Detroit Tigers, will send right-hander Alex Faedo to the mound.  Faedo has no record this season.

Binghamton hopes that home-opening good fortune continues.  Binghamton teams have won four straight outings including a 6-0 romp the Portland Sea Dogs last April 5.  Memorable in that game...now Major Leaguer Peter Alonso's first of 36 home runs in the 2018 season and Tim Tebow blasting a home run on the first pitch he faced at the Double-A level.
