Flash Flood Warning Issued For Part of the Southern Tier
4:10 P.M. UPDATE:
The National Weather Service has extended the area of the Flash Flood Warning in the Southern Tier.
ORIGINAL STORY:
A large portion of Delaware County is under a flash flood warning, as Tropical Storm Isaias makes its way up the east coast.
But what do these alerts mean? Here's the difference between a Flash Flood Watch and a Flash Flood Warning, according to the National Weather Service:
- Flash Flood Watch: You'll want to be prepared to take action in case a hazardous weather event takes place. This means that the conditions make flash flooding a possibility in your area, but it's not guaranteed to happen.
- Flash Flood Warning: Take appropriate actions because a hazardous weather event is either happening or is imminent.
