Endicott Police have arrested a teenager in connection with a stabbing incident that occurred Wednesday evening.

Police say they have arrested 18-year-old Cody Austin of Nanticoke Avenue following a reported knife fight in front of his residence.  The incident occurred shortly before 9:30 pm.

Responding patrols located an 18-year-old male victim a few blocks from the scene with multiple stab wounds to his upper back.  He was transported to Wilson Medical Center and was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Austin fled the scene and an initial search of the area, assisted by the Broome County Sheriff's K-9 Unit, was unsuccessful.

The suspect was spotted a short time later walking up Nanticoke Avenue by an off duty Endicott Detective.  After calling for backup, police were able to take the teen into custody on Jennings Avenue.

Police say Austin and the victim are acquaintances and the assault was the result of an ongoing dispute between them.

Austin is charged with felony assault.  He was arraigned in the Village of Endicott Court and remanded to the Broome County Jail without bail.
