Endicott Police Investigate Shooting on Washington Avenue
One man was believed to have been wounded in a shooting incident in an apartment building on Washington Avenue in Endicott.
Authorities say police were called to 25 Washington Avenue around 3:05 p.m. Thursday.
Gunshots apparently were fired in the stairway of the apartment building, which is located on the east side of Washington Avenue between North and Monroe streets.
Village police officers secured the scene and the street near the Huron Campus was closed for about two hours as detectives began their investigation.
Police say before officers arrived, the victim and suspect had left the area. Investigators have not indicated whether they know the identities of those involved.
