Endicott Man Convicted of Sexual Exploitation of Children
An Endicott man is to be sentenced in January after being convicted in Federal court of eight felony counts charging him with the sexual exploitation of two children.
50 year old Michael Gumaer was convicted following a four day jury trial.
He up to life in prison for all the convictions.
Federal prosecutors say the four counts of sexual exploitation of a child carry a minimum of 15 years and a maximum of 30 years in prison. The two counts charging receipt and transportation of child pornography carry five to 20 years in prison and the two counts charging possession of child pornography involving an image of a prepubescent minor carry prison time of up to 20 years.
Gumaer could be sentenced to post release supervision of up to life and a fine of up to 250-thousand dollars on each count.
The Endicott man is also required to register as a sex offender.
Sentencing in Binghamton is scheduled for January 26.
