Police have arrested a suspected in connection with an arson blaze that damaged a two-family residence in Endicott.

Authorities say 39-year-old Ronald Butts Jr. of Endicott is accused of "intentionally causing damage" to a house on South Liberty Avenue by starting a fire.

According to Endicott police, Butts has been charged with third-degree arson, a felony.

The residence was unoccupied at the time of the fire, which occurred during the late-night hours of February 16.

Endicott Police Chief Patrick Garey said firefighters managed to quickly knock down the blaze. No injuries were reported.

A news release indicated the investigation is continuing and more arrests are possible.

Endicott police were assisted by the village fire department, Broome County fire investigators, the Broome County District Attorney's Office, New York State Police and New York State fire investigators.
