Endicott Bike-Riding Bandit Suspect Arrested
An Endicott man has been charged in connection with an armed robbery at a village business in which the suspect fled the scene on a bicycle.
Authorities on Tuesday afternoon announced the 18-year-old man was arrested for the heist at Nanticoke Market at 112 South Nanticoke Avenue in Endicott's Union District.
The business was robbed by a knife-wielding man on March 7 shortly before 2 p.m. A surveillance image released by police shortly after the incident showed a man wearing a black mask riding on a bike.
In a news release, Endicott police said the suspect is accused of stealing money and merchandise. The release did not indicate how much cash was taken or what types of items were stolen in the robbery.
Police said the suspect was taken into custody on Saturday in the city of Binghamton. Endicott police said their investigators were assisted by the Binghamton police department.
The suspect's name was not released. He was processed at the Endicott police station and transported to the arraignment facility at Broome County Jail.
