Endicott Asks HGTV for a Washington Avenue Facelift
The Village of Endicott is turning to the Home and Garden Television Network for help in revitalizing its business district.
Village officials have applied for consideration by HGTV for the “Home Town Takeover” program that will be hosted by Ben and Erin Napier, whose “Home Town” show over the past several years have been renovating houses in the couple’s hometown of Laurel, Mississippi.
The new series selects small towns across the country to receive a facelift while maintaining historic significant landmarks.
Endicott’s proposal focuses primarily on Washington Avenue.
The original “Home Town” program selects houses in Laurel for families to purchase and renovate with the Napiers coming in to do the design and construction, often preserving the historic feel of the original structures and re-purposing materials.
The new spin-off series is to air next year.
