Cuomo Orders Early Closing for New York Bars and Restaurants
With Covid-19 cases continuing to rise across New York, Governor Andrew Cuomo says all bars and restaurants are being directed to close early.
Cuomo on Wednesday announced that places with liquor licenses will be required to cease operations at 10 p.m. The order is scheduled to take effect Friday. Restaurants will be allowed to offer curbside food-only pickup after 10.
The governor said infection rates across the country and in states surrounding New York are a cause for concern. He said "it is really getting much, much worse by the day."
Cuomo also announced the gyms in New York state will have to close at 10 p.m. every day.
New limits on the size of gatherings in homes are being implemented. Private residential parties now will not be permitted to have more than 10 people, down from the current limit of 50.
