Today, August 29, 2025, Broome County District Attorney F. Paul Battisti announced that Joziah Worthington of Endicott was convicted of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree and Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree following a trial in Broome County Court.

On May 31, 2024, New York State Troopers observed Worthington operating a vehicle on New York Route 17 in the Village of Johnson City at a high rate of speed.

Troopers conducted a motor vehicle stop and found that Worthington did not possess a valid driver’s license. During a search of the vehicle, troopers discovered a disassembled, but operable Glock 19X handgun hidden in different areas of the vehicle, along with a Glock magazine containing 25 live rounds.

The report noted that Worthington faces up to 15 years in New York State Prison, followed by 5 years of post-release supervision, with sentencing scheduled for December 3, 2025, in Broome County Court.
