Authorities say 37-year-old Shupin Cooper of Dennison Avenue was charged with first-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony. He also was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Investigators say a search warrant was executed at Cooper's residence on Monday.

The New York State Police Special Operations Response Team, uniform state troopers and members of the Broome County Special Investigations Unit Task Force participated in the operation.

In addition to the drugs and counterfeit currency, police confiscated $2,834 in cash and materials used to package narcotics.
