Changes to the United Way Featured on Southern Tier Close Up

Binghamton's United Way executive director, Robin Alpugh will be on the weekly local public affairs program, Southern Tier Close Up July 29th to share some good news. After not meeting past years' fundraising goal, Alpugh and everyone at United Way met their goal and even went over it.

Alpugh also highlights an upcoming community event. United Way is looking for volunteers across the community for Broome County's annual "Day of Caring" which falls on September 15th. Volunteers for this event will provide support to accomplish projects all across Broome County. Volunteers for the Day of Caring will help to create lasting change in Broome County through community service.

Alpugh brings attention to the United Way's help call center set up for people in need of information on a wide variety of topics. Anyone can call the number '211' to be set up with an array of resources for any situation they could be in, from supplemental food, to services for veterans and help for individuals with mental illness.  The call center is available 24 hours a day..
