Changes Considered For Johnson City Post Office

People who use a small neighborhood post office in Johnson City are concerned about its future.

The United States Postal Service is evaluating operations of the Bible School Park post office, which is located on the Davis College campus off Riverside Drive.

Postal service spokeswoman Maureen Marion says the agency has been assessing many smaller post offices around the country.

Marion says survey forms have been distributed to people who use the Bible School Park post office.

The postal service is considering reducing window service hours on weekdays. Customers may indicate their preference for service hours on the survey. The survey also includes options of what should be done if the post office is closed.

A community meeting on the review process will be held at the post office at noon on August 7. Local postal service managers will discuss the survey results and answer questions from customers.
