Car Wash Wars: New Business Prepares to Open on Parkway

Competition for car wash customers on the Vestal Parkway is about to heat up with another "high-end" operation about to turn on its newly-installed equipment.

A Classy Chassy car wash on the parkway at Clayton Avenue is expected to hold its grand opening within the next couple of weeks.

The Clifton Springs-based company operates about two dozen other car wash facilities, including one in the town of Chenango.

The site is across the street from a CK's Car Wash unit and just over two miles west of a Hoffman Car Wash operation.

A Magic Car Wash had operated at the Vestal Parkway site but that business closed several years ago. The property was acquired by Clifton Land Company LLC last March for $435,000.

The sale followed a court battle between Clifton Land Company and Magic Car Wash LLC.

Work to convert the old Magic Car Wash facility into the Classy Chassy operation began last spring.

Final adjustments are being made at the new Classy Chassy car wash and it's expected to open in mid-December.
