Vestal Student Housing Complex Activates Virtual Leasing System
The developer of a 516-bed student housing project be built near Binghamton University has started leasing units in the complex.
New Jersey-based Aptitude Development paid $10 million to acquire the property on the Vestal Parkway at Bunn Hill Road last year. The site had been occupied by a Quality Inn hotel, which was being used by Broome County to provide emergency housing.

The complex is being marketed as The Marshall Binghamton using similar branding that the company has employed for several other student housing projects.
Jared Hutter of Aptitude declined to discuss details about construction work at the Vestal site when contacted by WNBF News. But he said the project is on schedule to be opened next August.

Aptitude appears to have set up a leasing office on Plaza Drive in Vestal, although Hutter said he didn't know when it opened. A call to the listed phone number for The Marshall Binghamton was answered by "Virtual Leasing Agent Hunter."
The price tag for the five-story apartment complex has been reported to be $70 million. Its 195 units will feature various layouts with 1, 2 and 4 bedrooms.

According to The Marshall Binghamton website, a 600-square-foot one-bedroom unit is available starting at $1,849 a month.
A 700-bed student housing development called Retreat at Bunn Hill featuring "cottage-style buildings" opened about two miles south of The Marshall site in August.
