BU Recognized as 2020 Top Performer Again
Another honor has been bestowed upon Binghamton University for the second year in a row B.U. has been recognized as a top performer in the 2020 Sustainable Campus Index.
According to a press release from the Binghamton University Communications Office, the Sustainable Campus Index BU had the received the top spot in the research subcategory for doctoral institutions.
The Index recognizes top performing sustainable colleges and universities in 17 overall impact areas, this is s strong validation of the work that is done across the campus.
The press release quotes Carl Lipo, Harpur College associate dean for research and programs and chair of the Sustainable Communities TAE as saying “Binghamton University faculty, students and staff have clearly demonstrated our common vision for collaborative, community-engaged and deeply impactful programs of education and scholarship.”
Binghamton University topped the status in the research subcategory with a 100% score tying the University with four other schools including Irvine, UC San Diego, UC Merced, and Florida State University.
STARS or the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment & Rating System is a system that is used on a voluntary basis to report and measure contributions to global sustainability.
