The Binghamton Bearcats took the Stony Brook Seawolves down to the closing minutes before falling 62-52 at the Events Center Wednesday night.  The Seawolves, picked by many to win the America East title, held a 25-22 lead at the half and then outscored Binghamton 37-30 in the second half to win the conference opener for both teams.

Stony Brook was led by Rayshaun McGrew who paced all scorers with 18 points.  Standout Jameel Warney notched a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds. The Bearcats were paced by sophomore Bobby Ahearn with 13 points and 7 rebounds.  Freshman Everson Davis also scored in double digits with 12 points.

The Bearcats hit the road for a trip to Durham, New Hampshire where they meet the Wildcats from the University of New Hampshire on Saturday, January 9.  The game is set for a 1:00 p.m. tip-off with air at 12:45 on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
