The Binghanmton Bearcats men's basketball team is home tonight (Wednesday) for a 7:00 P.M. tipoff at the Events Center (air at 6:45 on News Radio 1290 WNBF).  They host the Hartford Hawks who are 8-5 in America East.  The Bearcats are 4-9.

Both teams have locked-in playoff spots but final seedings are still not set.  The Hawks are currently in fourth place and are two games ahead of fifth place Albany.  The Bearcats are in seventh place and one game ahead of Maine and two behind UMass Lowell.  Under the current standings guidelines the Bearcats would meet second place Stony Brook at Stony Brook on Saturday evening March 9 at 7:00 P.M.

In this season's first meeting between the Bearcats and Hawks in West Hartford on January 30th Hartford rolled to an 86-60 victory.  A three-point scoring blitz by the Hawks accounted for 57 of their points on a team record 19 three's made. That broke their record of 18 three's set last year against Binghamton.

In the overall series Hartford leads 24-13 and has won 14 of the last 16 meetings.  The Hawks hold a 10-7 edge in games played at BU. Binghamton will have just two regular season games remaining after tonight's meeting.. The Bearcats play in Maine on Saturday morning and then host Albany on Tuesday night.
