Broome Woman Arrested for Ignoring Subpoena

A Broome County woman is in trouble for allegedly refusing to comply with a grand jury subpoena.

Authorities say 35-year-old Christine Vane was charged with second-degree criminal contempt, a misdemeanor.

According to the Broome County District Attorney's office, Vane was arrested Tuesday. A statement from the office said Vane was subpoenaed to testify before a grand jury but she refused to show up.

In the statement, DA Stephen Cornwell said: "Subpoenas are not optional. Those who are subpoenaed will cooperate or be arrested."
