Broome County Executive Jason Garnar says the County’s finances are continuing to become healthier with the fund balance now grown to 25 times its size in 2017.

The Democrat says the audited unassigned fund balance is at $6.5 million at the end of 2018.  Garnar says the fund balance was at $225,000 when he took office, growing to $4.1 million to close fiscal 2017 and adding over $2 million for fiscal 2018.

Legislative Chairman, Republican Daniel Reynolds says the news reaffirms the County has done a good job budgeting over the past several years.
