The Binghamton Bearcats were able to hang with Atlantic 10 foe St. Bonaventure December 20 at the Events Center but in the end the superior size and speed of the Bonnies paid off and they defeated BU 69-51.  The Bearcats were down 26-22 at the half and had trimmed the Bonnies lead to 38-36 midway into the second twenty minutes.  But the Bonnies took control and ended up outscoring the Bearcats 43-29 to clinch the victory.

Nick Madray, 6-9 sophomore forward starred for the Bearcats.  He scored 20 points...his highest output of the season to lead BU in scoring until he had to leave midway through the second half with an ankle injury.  There was no immediate information on the extent of his injury.  When he left the Bearcats fell out of contention against a bigger and more experienced Bonnies team.  Madray gave the Bearcats an inside presence that they sorely need.  He was able to score three slam dunks to go along with a pair of three point shots.

With the win the Bonnies move to 7-2.  Binghamton falls to 1-12.  St. Bonaventure takes a 4-1 edge in the series.  The schools had not played since 2010.  The Bearcats travel to Emmitsburg, Maryland to face Mount St. Mary's December 22 at 7 p.m. with airtime at 6:45 on News Radio 1290 WNBF.
