April 14th through the 19th, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies were in Akron, Ohio, for a six-game series with the Akron Rubber Ducks.

Game 1 - RubberDucks - 8 Rumble Ponies - 7
The 6-game series kicked off on Tuesday, April 14th at 7 17 Credit Union Park, losing to the RubberDucks, 8 to 7. Left-hander Jonathan Santucci made his second start for Binghamton and was flawless through the first three innings with five strikeouts while facing the minimum.
Binghamton trailed by one in the top of the ninth inning, but right-hander Alaska Abney recorded the save after allowing a two-out walk to catcher Chris Suero. The Rumble Ponies recorded 10 hits to Akron’s seven, but Binghamton was 4-for-17 with runners in scoring position and left seven on base. A.J. Ewing has extended his hit streak to eight games
Game 2 - RubberDucks - 3 Rumble Ponies - 0
The Rumble Ponies dropped game two to the RubberDucks 3-0, in seven innings after a 2-hour and 43-minute rain delay on Wednesday, April 15th.
The Rumble Ponies were two outs away from being no-hit for the first time since July 20, 2024, at home against the Erie Seawolves until Kevin Parada lasered an infield single off right-hander Magnus Ellerts. A.J. Ewing has extended his on-base streak to nine games.
Game 3 - RubberDucks - 5 Rumble Ponies - 0
Inclement weather continued to plague the 6-game Rumble Ponies-D-RubberDuck series in Akron, Ohio, on Thursday, April 16th. The Rumble Ponies dropped game three in seven innings, called due to inclement weather before the top of the eighth inning by a score of 5-0.
Binghamton left seven on base and, up to this game, had not scored a run over the last 15 innings after the offense scored seven runs in game one of this series. On the upside, A.J. Ewing extended his on-base streak to 10 games and has recorded at least one hit in 9-of-10 games
Game 4 - Rumble Ponies - 4 RubberDucks - 1
The Binghamton Rumble Ponies picked up their first win in this six-game series against the RubberDucks 4-1, at 7 17 Credit Union Park on Friday, April 17th. Right-hander Joander Suarez made his Double-A season debut, earning the win after allowing one run on three hits and three walks over 5.1 innings with five strikeouts.
Suarez did not allow a run until the sixth inning and allowed his first hit in the fourth inning. Eli Serrano III and he smashed a two-run home run to center field, which marked his first-career Double-A home run.
Game 5 - RubberDucks - 5 Rumble Ponies - 4
On Saturday, April 18th, the Rumble Ponies fell to the RubberDucks, 5 to 4 on a walk-off squeeze bunt in the bottom of the ninth inning after another rain delay. This one lasted 1 hour and 26 minutes.
The Rumble Ponies led 4 to 3 heading into the bottom of the ninth inning. The report from Matt Levine - "Right-hander Ben Simon recorded the first out of the frame on one pitch. Second baseman Christian Knapczyk then reached on an error by shortstop Marco Vargas, and Jose Devers pinch-ran for Knapczyk. Devers reached second base on a wild pitch. First baseman Jake Fox followed with a game-tying RBI triple to left field, which made it 4-4. Left fielder Matt Rudick slipped on the wet playing surface after the rain, and the ball got by him, which allowed Fox to reach third as the potential-winning run. Right fielder Guy Lipscomb followed and placed down a walk-off squeeze bunt, and Fox scored the winning run."
Center Fielder A.J. Ewing extended his on-base streak to 11 games, Catcher Chris Suero extended his on-base streak to seven games, and Second baseman D’Andre Smith extended his on-base streak to seven games.
Game 6 - Rubber Ducks - 4 Rumble Ponies - 0
The Rumble Ponies were held hitless on Sunday afternoon in the series finale at 7 17 Credit Union Park, losing five of six games in the series. Akron had five pitchers combine to throw its fifth no-hitter in franchise history.
The Rumble Ponies drew six walks in the contest, but did not record a hit. Left Fielder Chris Suero has drawn 14 walks in 11 games this season, Center Fielder A.J. Ewing snapped his 11-game on-base streak, and Shortstop Marco Vargas walked and extended his on-base streak to five games.
