The Binghamton Mets got off to a good start last night in the first of their seven-game homestand as they defeated the Akron RubberDucks 3-2.  Jayce Boyd slammed a home run over the left field wall in the sixth inning and that proved to be the difference.

Matt Koch earned the win in relief of starter Michael Fulmer.  Koch evened his record at 2-2.  Koch and Paul Sewald combined to retire all ten batters they faced to give the B-Mets their 12th one-run victory of the season.

With the win the B-Mets upped their record to 23-18.They will send right-hander John Gant to the mound tonight against lefty Shawn Morimando for the RubberDucks. Tonight's game is scheduled for a 7:05 start.  Another night game is set for tomorrow evening at 6:35 followed by a 1:05 game on Monday.
