Binghamton Man Charged with Attempted Murder in Teen Shooting
Police say a suspect has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a 16-year-old boy in a Binghamton apartment house.
According to city detectives, police received a report of shots fired at 526 Chenango Street on the North Side around 2:15 a.m. Sunday.
When officers arrived at the scene, they learned the victim had sustained a gunshot to an arm. He was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle.
Investigators determined the shooting occurred inside an apartment in the two-story building at the corner of Chenango and Bevier streets.
Police later found the suspect at a residence on Mason Avenue on the city's East Side.
Detectives said 18-year-old Danny Wilkins Jr. of Binghamton has been charged with first-degree attempted murder.
