Binghamton High School students and staff held their annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner at the high school cafeteria.  Hundreds of area residents turned out to enjoy a delicious turkey dinner with all the fixings served free of charge.  Over 100 students and numerous faculty and staff members volunteered their time to hold the dinner.

Organized by the school's National Honor Society the meal is served to anyone who is looking for a hot meal to celebrate Thanksgiving.  Some who came were in need of a place to go to celebrate the holiday.  Others had no family in the area and still others came just  because they wanted to.  There is no requirement as to who can attend.  It is open to everyone.

There were families with small children there.  Some came with a spouse and others with friends.  Some came alone.  All seemed to leave with a smile on their face, happy for a delicious meal and happy someone showed they cared.  The volunteers were giving up much of their holiday to share their day with the community.  It was hard to tell who left happier...those who gave or those who received.
