The Binghamton Bearcats men's basketball team dropped a 57-48 decision to the Albany Great Danes last night at the Events Center.  Binghamton was going for its third consecutive win...something the Bearcats had not done since the 2010-2011 season.

The Great Danes upped their America East Conference slate to 8-6 while the Bearcats fell to 3-10.  Albany jumped out to a 15-5 lead but BU struck back to tie the game at 15-all.  The Great Danes closed the first half with a 31-27 lead.

In the second half Albany outscored BU 26-21.  The Great Danes shot 41 percent from the floor including a blistering 58 per cent in the opening 20 minutes while the Bearcats struggled and ended up shooting just 33 per cent in the game.

Jordan Reed had another big game for the Bearcats.  Reed was the only Bearcat to score in double figures with 13 points and grabbed 16 rebounds for a double-double.  Albany's Peter Holey hit for 13 points to lead the Great Danes' offense.

Binghamton has just three regular season games remaining.  Next up is a trip to Maryland to play the UMBC Retrievers Saturday at 7 PM.  The Bearcats travel to Hartford next Thursday and will close the regular campaign with a home game against the Vermont Catamounts on Sunday, March 2 at 2 PM.
