Binghamton Bearcat outfielder Jake Thomas was selected in the 27th round of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft June 10.  Thomas became the third Binghamton outfielder drafted in the last six years.  Thomas earned First Team All-America East honors during his sophomore, junior and senior years.

Thomas is Binghamton University's all-time leader in on-base percentage (.453) and walks (132) and ranks in the top ten in every offensive category in school history.  He also was named the winner of the 2015 John Bilos Award at this year's Varsity Awards Banquet.

Thomas is the fourth Bearcat to be drafted since 2012 when pitchers Mike Augliera and Lee Sosa were selected.  Augliera, currently pitching for the Portland Sea Dogs, was a 5th round pick of the Boston Red Sox.  Lee Sosa was selected in the 26th round by the Oakland Athletics. Outfielder Bill Bereszniewicz was picked in the 28th round last June by the Los Angeles Dodgers.
