Travel Center on Court Street in Binghamton to Open Soon
Construction is moving forward on a convenience store and restaurant complex at the eastern edge of downtown Binghamton.
The Briad Group of New Jersey is developing the project, which will be anchored by the region's first Circle K location.

The company acquired the two-acre Court Street site last November for $1.3 million. It's located between Liberty Street and Brandywine Avenue, just east of Route 363.
Brad Honigfeld, founder and CEO of the Briad Group, said Wendy's and Dunkin' restaurants are part of the project. A Papa Johns unit recently was added to the plans for the travel center.

Two dedicated drive-thru lanes will be available for use by Wendy's and Dunkin' customers. The complex will include eight fuel pumps.
Honigfeld now expects the Binghamton travel center will be in operation by the end of the year. It may open in phases with the Circle K convenience store opening first.

For decades, the Court Street site was occupied by a three-story Columbia Gas building. NYSEG later acquired the property, which eventually was sold to a town of Binghamton man.
At one point, ALDI considered locating a grocery store at the site but ultimately decided not to do so.
