Big Day for Endicott Sertoma
Saturday was a big day for the Endicott Sertoma Club. The club held its 43rd Annual Chicken Bar B Q in the Union-Endicott Parking Lot. The event went from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Members were expecting over 1,000 dinners to be sold with net proceeds benefiting various Sertoma Club projects including a number focused on speech and hearing issues. Endicott Sertoma Club member and audiology specialist Dr. David Glaser performed free hearing screenings during the day.
Under the direction of Phil's Chicken House Endicott Sertoma volunteers assisted with Bar B Q preparation. Many car dealers and other businesses treated their employees to dinner by purchasing large numbers of the take-out meals.
Endicott Sertoma was founded in 1965 and charter member Bob Horbey, who has been a part of all 43 years of the benefit Bar B Q's was on hand to assist as well.
